My passion is the environment, but like most Duke students, I’m interested in a lot of things. Outside of class, I work on organizing environmental campaigns through the Environmental Alliance, Duke’s largest undergraduate environmental group, and I’m a member of the Student Environment and Sustainability Committee, which advises student government. I also enjoy cooking, jogging, and community service.

Although I’ve had a great time at Duke, some of my most memorable Duke experiences have taken place pretty far from campus. In the fall of 2010, I studied abroad in South Africa doing immersive field ecology in Kruger National Park. I spent every day with lions, elephants, and all sorts of other amazing wildlife. Then, in the summer of 2011, I went back to South Africa through Duke Engage and set up environmental education programs in a rural community. Both of those experiences were incredible, but now I’m glad to be back at Duke for my senior year!
