On Saturday, I hosted a video chat at the Duke Lemur Center with a couple other students. We discussed research opportunities at Duke, which is a topic that I have written about in my other posts. For the whole chat, I sat near one of my favorite lemur groups, a family of Coquerel’s sifakas. I wrote about this group for my Documentary Writing class, and the male, Jovian, was featured on the TV show Zoboomafoo (in the title role). Sometimes, during the chat, you could see the sifakas in the background, and the whole time, I had a plush sifaka around my neck. I must have looked pretty goofy to the passing tour groups.
