As a biology major, you’ll find yourself in plenty of labs… however, this semester I’m in a course with a pretty unique “lab.” Biology 141L, Plant Communities of North Carolina, has been one of my favorites that I’ve taken as a biology major. Our labs actually put us out in the field to study and learn about plants, which means we take some pretty cool trips and hikes around North Carolina!
Last weekend, we slipped away to the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC to study plants of the coastal plains! Though we stayed pretty busy studying out on the trail, we were sure to save some time to pay the beach a visit as well. Professor Manos and our TA Dudu were fearless leaders on our outdoor adventures… take a look at some of the photos highlighting the trip!
