What’s Blue, White, and CRAZY All Over?!

As Fall arrives on Duke’s campus, a growing buzz begins to emerge around you… a sense that something’s coming… Before you know it, blue and white body paint and blue wigs start appearing. What is this fall fever?

BASKETBALL SEASON.

When the Crazies start showing up around campus, you know that Coach K and his team are gearing up for the start of another amazing season!

To get us and the team pumped up and excited, we have an event called Countdown to Craziness right in Cameron Stadium. Everyone gets painted, dressed in their blue and white, and lines up hours ahead of time to get a coveted court-side seat to celebrate the start of a new basketball season.

This year, I got to perform on the court with Defining Movement (defMo), a student dance group on campus. It was such an exhilarating, indescribable feeling to stand on the inside, looking out and the screaming Crazies cheering us on! I now have an even greater appreciation for our teams that play out there on a regular basis. The energy was exciting, but you definitely feel the pressure!

Check out our video to see the performance:
